Dr.Usui, chiho, Daisuke (who has departed) and His@ya are the members. The combimation of the old synth sound and Chiho's cute voice is incredibly appealing. My cassette used a Jack Kirby trading card to stiffen the cover.

includes
24 HOURS ON LINE
YOU THINK YOU'RE A MAN
DAT1
these tracks in their original arrangements seem to be only available on CD here. If you can find one this is a very important compilation CD that showcases the Neo New Wave sound
99.08 TiNSTAR 7" MSR-TIN-010 CD5: MSR-TIN-014
The CD single is one of those cool 2 color clear items. I'm not sure many or any of these earlier items are still available. Great stuff.

These are new 1999 recordings of the old tunes engineered by Yasuhiko Terada who was one of YMO's engineers and continues to do fine stuff at his Think Sync Integral studios and indy label which. Mitsuo Koike also from the former YMO team mastered the album. The arrangements are more tight and the recordings very clean. They sound wonderful but one can also debate that some elusive quality is lost compared to the earlier home made recordings. Still I'd highly reccomend it to fans of technopop as one of the very best recent albums in that style. Its one of those things that one can debate but at the end its still really good. From this point on I think everything should be easily available.
take me to your party(@)00.05.05 polystar/poplot CD5: MTCA-1001
Lets Sing Out are like Kareoke versions I have a problem where before the tracks were both techno nerdy and cute, this one is just sort of cute but juvenile. Not that its bad, just a bit of an "edge" is gone. They did get their own sublabel, Poplot.

There is some sort of old video game theme here
00.11.22 POPLOT/POLYSTAR cd: MTCA-1003
This is Motocompo's first full album. Its new material including the last 2 Poplot singles. I was excited yet also worried a bit based on the singles. While still a lot of stylish fun there is a lack :) of astripped down edge that the early recordings have and also a lack of the percision and balance of the Terada re-recordings. They've clearly musically developed on this album but some of what was really enjoyable is gone. Things have gotten more slick and complexly arranged but less focused and magical. Still even though dissapointed I don't want to say this is a bad album. Its quite fun, I was just hoping a lot for them as the earlier stuff was pretty exciting and amusing. Includes some multimedia and online stuff worth checking out.
